Hey Film Lover,
Welcome to The Ciné Film Newsletter — your inside look at our community of short films, fresh talent, and events that celebrate bold storytelling.
Before we dive in, a big thank you for showing up and being part of our screenings. We’re so grateful to be building a space where filmmakers feel safe sharing their work — and where the audience shows up open, curious, and ready to engage. It’s been powerful, inspiring, and honestly, just really special.
So special, in fact, that we’re doing it again.

On July 23rd, we’re back with Ciné Film: Summer Edition — a night of short films that capture the spirit of summer at It’s Ok* Studios.
Think self-discovery, nostalgia, young love, and all the warm, messy moments that make summer feel like freedom. We'll be showcasing work from a fresh lineup of talented filmmakers who each bring their own take on what the season feels like.
However you’d like to experience the night, we’ve got space for you. Grab a free Community Access Pass, or go for a CinéPlus for a fuller experience: entry, a drink, and snacks to enjoy while you watch.
Forward this email, tell a friend, or share it online — stories like these are meant to be experienced together.
In case you missed it…
Last month, we kicked off the summer with CinéQ, a night dedicated to celebrating queer BIPOC stories through film, conversation, and community. We screened four powerful shorts:

- NOT THREE NOT FOUR by Renée Wong
- Delulu? by Murry Peeters
- Woman Meets Girl by Janice Njuguna
- 14 Years and a Day by Ayo T. Lawson and Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim
Each film brought something different, and the energy in the room was real. After the screening, the filmmakers joined us for a convo on queer joy, identity, and what inspired their work, making the night hit even more inspiring.
